Shopify Payments rates by plan (US, online)

For US online card payments processed through Shopify Payments, the standard rates are 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic, 2.7% + $0.30 on the Shopify plan, and 2.5% + $0.30 on Advanced. The rate drops as the monthly plan price rises, part of what a higher tier buys you.

If you process payments through a gateway other than Shopify Payments, Shopify adds its own transaction fee on top of whatever that outside gateway charges: 2% on Basic, 1% on Shopify plan, 0.6% on Advanced. That's an extra cost stacked on top of your processor's own rate, which is why most US stores stay on Shopify Payments when it's available in their country.
