Stripe's standard US rate

Stripe's published rate for domestic US cards is 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge, the base rate behind most Stripe integrations in 2026. A $100 domestic sale costs $2.90 + $0.30 = $3.20 in fees, leaving a $96.80 net payout.

International cards add 1.5% on top of the base rate, and if Stripe has to convert the payment into your settlement currency, that adds a further 1%. Both surcharges can stack on a single international sale in a foreign currency.

The formula, and how to reverse it

Fee = (amount × rate) + $0.30. Net = amount − fee. Reverse: price = (target amount + $0.30) ÷ (1 − rate), which tells you what to charge to land on an exact net figure.

Large-volume sellers can negotiate custom rates directly with Stripe that sit below the standard published number. This calculator uses the standard rate; check your Stripe dashboard for the rate that actually applies to your account.
